Free Treatment and Technology Insights for Bio-CNG and Biomass Pellets

How advanced feedstock pre-treatment, pelletization, and process technology maximize energy yield and operational efficiency.

Feedstock pre-treatment, often referred to as "Pre-Treatment", is a critical stage for both Bio-CNG and pellet production. It ensures consistent quality, reduced contaminants, and optimal energy conversion.

1. Size Reduction

  • Choppers, hammer mills, and grinders reduce feedstock to <12mm.
  • Uniform particle size enhances anaerobic digestion efficiency and pellet density.

2. Moisture Control

  • Ideal input moisture: <60%.
  • Overly wet feedstock reduces methane yield; overly dry feedstock increases dust and wear in pellet mills.

3. Pelletization Technology

  • Napier grass, sawdust, bagasse, or press mud can be densified into pellets for energy storage and transport efficiency.
  • Roller compaction or ring die pellet mills are preferred for consistent calorific value.

4. Bio-CNG Process Integration

  • Pre-treated feedstock ensures smooth digester operation, high methane content, and minimal downtime.
  • Advanced digestion monitoring (pH, temperature, microbial balance) is key.

Hastus Insight: Hastus combines pre-treatment, pelletization, and CBG digestion into an integrated ecosystem. This reduces operational variability and improves return on investment.
